Chapter 10
“Welcome back,” Sarina stated, “I thought you wouldn’t return.”
Chains held my wrists again, I was in the cage.
“What do you mean welcome back...? How did I get in here...? I was just at the hospital.”
She giggled, in her childish laugh. “So I’m guessing you haven’t figured it out yet,” She stated, instead of in a questioning way.
I was puzzled. She wasn’t going to answer any of my questions, I realised. So instead, I asked her about herself, her life, and any other information I could find out.
While I quizzed her, I mentally took note.
Sarina had short blonde curls, and bright purple eyes. Wait a second… Bright purple eyes? I checked again, and yes, her eyes were purple. She was quite thin, almost too thin.
Supposably, there were many things I had to figure out myself. She told me that she was 10, and had been taken by Cyrus, the cloaked man.
Most of her family had been killed in a plane crash, and only her father and her remained. They had both miraculously survived.
Sarina had just been out of hospital, when Cyrus found her and took her to a room, which was a lot better than this cell.
“There were white walls, and a pillow each, for comfort. We weren’t chained up, and we got fed everyday,” She said, her voice wishful that she could return there.
“Were there others in there?” I asked, wondering how many people Cyrus had taken already.
“Yes, a boy and a girl… They treated me like a little sister. Their names were Bailey and Skylar.” Her voice broke after this, and I could here small sobs.
Minutes flew by, and eventually Sarina stopped crying.
“Is there anything that you can tell me that can help me figure out what’s happening?” I asked.
She looked up and said, “They’re going to take you.”
